Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
We tried out our new citrus juicer today, and it was wonderful. Fresh squeezed juice whenever we want it. Here’s Ryan holding some orange halves — 3 oranges for 1 pint of juice. That’s a lot of manual labor :P

New Pet Blog
On a whim and due to popular demand, I’ve created a pet blog dedicated to my cat Vera’s fun- and food-filled days. I’ll be blogging pictures of her exclusively on this website, but all photos will still be posted in my portfolio. Check out my new blog here.

Tofu salad
I cooked Chinese last night for dinner :) Braised tofu with pork, sauteed greens, and a yummy tofu salad, Ryan’s favorite by far. I added sliced tofu, cilantro, and chopped marinated turnip. We had plenty of leftovers, but honestly, not much tofu salad left!
As always, more food pictures can be found here.

Steak dinner
Ryan and I cooked steak for dinner a couple nights ago :) It was tender and seared to perfection. We had it with sauteed spinach with pine nuts, and polenta on the side.

English muffins!
I made some English muffins today — they turned out fluffy and light, and were monstrously good fresh. They resembled Thomas’ English Muffins, but didn’t taste as starchy. They also had the quintessential English muffin taste! So good with just a bit of butter :)

More food: White sandwich bread
This week I decided to make my own sandwich bread instead of buying it from the grocery store. This bread was straightforward to make, and turned out delicious! Only homemade bread would have crust so crumbly, crispy, and wonderful, akin to baguette crust :) Ryan and I had some while it was still warm, and then cut up more to make sandwiches. A most satisfying dinner!
As always, neither of us...

Road Trip: San Diego
Our good friend Tyler invited us to visit in San Diego after Christmas, so Ryan and I drove down and stayed with him and his mom for a few days. He and his mom were awesome hosts! On the day we arrived, we watched Up in the Air, and had amazing Mexican food for dinner at Cafe Coyote. The next day was filled with sightseeing and exploring the downtown. Tyler and his friend Steve showed us around...
