Road Trip: Yosemite National Park

To celebrate the end of an era at Berkeley, Ryan and I visited Yosemite National Park to see the sights and hike around. Here are some highlights from the trip!

As the days were pretty short in the mountains, I took some long exposure shots. The moon was waxing so I set everything up by moonlight. It was pretty awesome, but I was getting pretty cold standing out there for 3 hours!

Check out Orion:

Later at night the mist rolled in and created some cool effects.

The next day Ryan and I drove to the Badger Pass Ski Lodge for a guided snowshoe hike to Badger Pass and some cross-country ski lessons. It’s definitely a lot of exercise at 7600 ft!

We spent the next morning cross-country skiing down some trails at Badger Pass. It was great fun looking at the scenery, learning a new sport, and having fun. Afterwards, on our way back to the Bay Area, we stopped by Tunnel View to see El Capitan, Half Dome, and Bridalveil Falls by daylight. It was quite a sight :)

Back at home, I’m sore but happy. A great vacation, and much needed too!
